How often is encantado used in Spanish? Isn't mucho gusto used more?

It really depend on the situation and in Spain they are both used with a slight difference. Mucho gusto on introduction but when you are leaving the presence of this person you can then say - Encantado ( de conocerle) Though they mean the same thing, I always say " mucho gusto" but when saying bye " encantado (de conocerte / haberte / le conocido)
